Superb large Victorian style gilt bronze library oil lamp converted to electric, France 1870-1879. Original hand blown glass oil font and shade with clear glass chimney. Beautiful cherub sitting on a rock raised on a large patinated bronze fluted column with a gilt bronze ornate footed base.
This beautiful, rare piece is in very good condition with great patina of age to bronze. By converting the lamp to electric it was necessary to make small modifications on the the top to fit the bulb socket and inside of the base for the passage of the electrical cord.
It takes one Edison E14 bulb up to 60Watt
