A superb pair of Victorian his and hers library chairs, circa 1870, the gentleman’s armchair with carved lion head terminals to the padded armrests, each with shaped back and deep seat and recently reupholstered in aubergine purple velvet chenille with braid trim, standing on turned Irish shamrock carved legs with brass caps and white porcelain castors, the brass stamped ‘WT&S Patent’ for William Tonks & Son.
In good condition and comfortable these deep seated chairs would make lovely fireside or library chairs.
