Vintage Design
Beautiful, sculptural counter balance ceilinglamp designed by Jan Hoogervorst (1918 – 1984) for Anvia Almelo 1957. This concerns an early (the very first) edition as this piece has a frame/construction purely from metal/steel whereas later editions also have plastic details.
This beautiful lamp has a black lackered metal and unlackered metal frame and a great red shade and handle (that’s where the weight is). Its design is ingenious as the lamp can be put in all positions by the weight at the end of the frame; by changing this – by turning the little metal handle – it creates the balance the lamp needs.
In a good working condition, original, with signs of usage which matches its age. See all images.
