1970s Robert Vavra Signed “Thunder by Moonlight” Framed and Matted Dye-Transfer Photograph

In noted equine photographer Robert Vavra’s brilliant THUNDER BY MOONLIGHT, a herd of wild mustangs gallop across a ridgetop under the light of the full moon, the scene framed by an equally dark fringe of overhanging tree branches, with the whole of the deep-blue night sky illuminated by the brightness of the moonlight..The Cerificate of Authenticity (COA), issued by The Franklin Gallery, and mounted on the dust cover on verso of the frame, reads as follows: “This is to certify that “THUNDER BY MOONLIGHT” by Robert Vavra is a dye-tranfer photographic print issued in limited edition by The Franklin Gallery. It is futher certified that this print was pulled by hand, then inspected and hand-signed by Mr. Vavra”. Signed clearly and unobtrusively, and dated 1978, on the lower right corner of the photograph, This is a vintage work issued on November 30, 1978.’ This mounted, matted and beautifully framed (with plexiglas, which is four percent clearer and safer than glass) dye-transfer photograph is in excellent condition.
