19th century oak corner chair from England. The arms and back of the chair are wonderfully barrel shaped and embellished with hand carved decorations. The top rail of the chair is supported on hand turned supports, and there are two pierced and carved decorated vase back splats. The seat is plain and is supported on hand turned legs in the back and sides, which are connected by simple stretchers. The front leg is the real star here! It is shaped and has a wonderful hand carved acanthus leaf knee over a cabriole type leg, which ends in a ball and claw foot. This is a show stopper!
