A rare example of a late 19th Century toleware hand painted hat makers trade sign. In the form of a Bicorn hat, this metal example would have been positioned outside a shop doorway to promote the hatmakers services. The item has seen some aged restoration to one side before we obtained it. This artifact still has its original first layer of paint, which is important. It has been mounted on a bespoke stand for display purposes as shown but can be removed.
