Antique Chicago Soda-Acid Extinguisher Lamp

Antique brass soda-acid fire extinguisher converted into a table lamp. This is a 2 1/2 gallon The Chicago fire extinguisher made by manufactured by Racine Iron and Wire Works. The extinguisher was cleaned, but the lacquer finish which was applied by the manufacturer over the brass was left alone. To remove would have meant refinishing with a new brass coating and then another lacquer finish. This process would have meant giving the extinguisher a newer finished look which in our estimation would do away with its aged look and individualistic unique appeal. Also, the cost would have raised the price of this item significantly.

The lampshade in the photos is for demonstration purposes only. Buyer would need to find their own preferred lampshade. This allows the buyer to complete their decor. Also using the current shades would complicate the shipping process. The top of the lampshade support will be dismantled for shipping. Simple to reinstall. Dimensions are 8″ wide, 6.5″ deep, 35″ high.
