An antique French terracotta lion sculpture by Mandeville & Bernier. Dating to circa 1900, this impressive lion sculpture is of good scale, its detailed mane, large paws, and expressive face boldly modelled in a rich terracotta. The deep orange colour with hints of brown only adds to its striking character.
In a seated stance, known in heraldry as sejant, this lion sculpture makes a handsome statue, ornament or sculpture in a garden or interior.
