Vintage Design
The lamp clearly shows how special Louis Weisdorf’s lighting designs were at the time. It consists of 18 identical metal elements that each fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. The shape of these elements creates a cylinder where the light shines through the openings and the colors of the inside become visible.
This copy is an early version of the Facet lamp where gold color was used on the outside and two shades of orange on the inside. As a result, production costs were (too) high and an alternative was quickly sought. This came in the form of the Facet Pop where both the inside and outside were the same, namely 3 shades of the same color.
After the merger with Fog & Mørup, production of this lamp was also stopped.
Both the Facet Pop and to a greater extent the Facet lamp itself are sought after and nowadays very difficult to find. This copy is in beautiful vintage condition with light signs of use here and there that are hardly noticeable.
