English 19th century apothecary chest of twelve drawers in mahogany with pine carcass. Original glass labels have some damage, original glass handles. We have made a bespoke stand with a low shelf to make this a more versatile piece and have made this so it is freestanding and viewable from all sides. The original drawers came from a 19th century pharmacy and were built into a wall; they were originally more numerous as they generally covered a whole wall. Their 9 inch depth makes them ideal for halls, passageways, behind sofas, kitchens or anyplace where space is at a premium. Drawers, circa 1850.
