Italian Wall Sconces in Smoked Tempered Glass in the style of Fontana Arte, 1970, Set of 2

Peculiar and linear pair of vintage Italian wall sconces; on the back of each sconce is a sturdy metal plate to which, using shaped metal supports, seven plates of elegantly shaped smoked tempered crystal are applied; two of them are positioned to remain parallel to the wall, while the other five protrude outward, like petals of a flower. The plate on the back allows the wall sconces to be positioned on the wall; the electrical wires connected to the lamp holders also protrude from the plate; the position of the light points is perfect, in fact being free of obstacles they distribute light excellently and evenly. The sconces were made between 1970 and 1973 in a workshop on the outskirts of Milan (Italy), the skilled craftsmen were faithfully inspired by a model design of the famous Fontana Arte Company. Fontana Arte is a prestigious Italian company founded in Milan in 1932 by Luigi Fontana and Giò Ponti and specializing in glass processing and furniture accessories, a prominent name in Italian design. Our wall sconces with their simple structure, clean lines, and balanced and dynamic arrangement of crystals, are two unique, elegant, and modern pieces of furniture that can be adapted to any room in the home. The sconces are in good condition, in the chrome part you can see a slight oxidation, and there are small chips on the crystals (see photo), but being minimal, when the sconces are mounted they become negligible aesthetically.
