wall mirror of imposing proportions having mostly
original sectioned mirror plates enclosed within
original painted cushioned frame with decorative
glass mounts to border
(This magnificent mirror is European in design, probably
but not definitely French, dating to the mid-19th century
and retains a large amount of it’s original glazing. The
frame also retains its original paintwork (restored in places)
and it really is most unusual to find a mirror of these proportions
in such relatively good condition. It would be the absolute
making of almost any room which it is hung in and although
our images all show it hung landscape it could also be hung
portrait should the owner so desire. The mirror exudes elegance
but not necessarily overt grandeur which is quite an unusual and
desirable feature for somebody seeking a large antique mirror
that is not too overpowering).
