Vintage Design
An extremely large suspension piece. This design is uniquely attributed to Barovier & Toso and is composed of a beautiful pattern of crisscrossing amber tiles. The central design is surrounded by a clear incalm and a black bead on the edge. Although there are several bubbles scattered here and there, they do not detract from the beauty of the piece, as can be seen in the photos. The design is very large, with a diameter of 70cm and is very heavy. The same goes for the electrical parts. The quality is not as superb as that of the Ercole Barovier tessere vase, so it is possible that this is a production piece. The glass is heavy and the clear incalmo is probably a medium incalmo (when one part that joins, in this case the weaving part, is shaped like a vase and the other is a blob of glass). This also implies a production line. The lip-shaped bead, called morisa in Murano, is thick and complements the piece well. When illuminated, the pattern is very visible. Perhaps a mirrored bulb would further enhance the beauty of the piece.
