This very large and well executed hand carved pine sculpture was done is unsigned, but believed to have been done in Quebec Canada in approximately 1850 in the period Early Victorian style. The entire sculpture is done using a block of pine, which shows a deep orange patina from age and depicts a standing St. Anthony gazing at Jesus who he is holding on his outstretched arm. The sculpture is extremely well detailed on all sides and employs a very realistic style in the treatment of the facial features, hands, clothing and feet. Please note this is a large sculpture standing slightly over five feet in height and weighing approximately one hundred and fifty pounds.
