This large and impressive lantern was originally fitted for gas. It is tapering and hexagonal with each paneled side set with the original beveled grass plate. A broad cast band is applied to the top with a pebbled glass behind. This artfully provides more depth and subsequent relief to the decorative bronze panels. They stand out well when lit.
