This is a handsome set of Lorna Doon – A Romance of Exmoor by R.D. Blackmore. Circa 1890’s (there is no date of publication stated); Porter & Coates; Philadelphia. This lovely two-volume set is bound in red cloth boards, with gilt spine lettering and intricate gilt patterning on the front covers. Each book also features gilt top page edges, and dozens of full-page illustrations and photographs in both volumes (each is protected by a captioned tissue guard).
