Vintage Design
A midcentury table lamp handcrafted in Italy between the 1950s and the 1960s. The structure of the lamp, 33cm height, is made with curved rattan canes and the lampshade in wicker cane webbing. This vintage lamp is an example of the many objects and furniture produced in Italy by skilled craftsmen with natural fibers such as bamboo, rattan and wicker. The cane of rattan to produce these items was woven and flexed by hand after having immersed it in tanks to increase its flexibility. from the largest to the smallest object, it needed attention, knowledge and a lot of time to be made. This lamp show the patina of time and has not undergone restoration. The electrical system was Rewiring by a professional, while retaining the original ceramic bulb holder. Used materials and design make it perfect for illuminating and decorating a Riviera-style interiors.
