A very well-made pair, they are vintage midcentury circa 1940s, they have what’s called marbelled paint which is faux marble painting, this was the height off fashion in the Regency and early Victorian era, it showed you were fashionable
These are very decorative looking pedestals and would display anything with style and charm, antiques, taxidermy even plat pots.
The timber has all been cleaned waxed and polished, there will be some age and use related patina marks here and there as you would expect, some old timber shrinkage splits, the tops sit at slightly different angles
