Hand carved bamboo vase/brush pot/bitong.
This hand-carved Chinese bamboo bitong or dried flower vase dates from the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
The bitong, or brush pot, is traditionally carved.
This vase is ideal for decoration with dried flowers.
It has a nice patina of age, the bamboo gives a nice shiny caramel color.
The scenes represent a merchant, and characters in a forest.
Very nice Chinese craftsmanship from the end of the Qing dynasty
