Victorian collectors cabinet, “Portable Museum” with contents
A charming Victorian Educational Activity, the cabinet is made in fruitwood and has 6 drawers
The drawers are labelled with the titles of their contents and still contain many of the samples
The drawers and top carrying handle are inset and made in Brass, the cabinet has 2 locking doors on the inside of which is labelled by the designer Thomas E Dexter of the Royal Hospital Chelsea
A very rare and interesting object in good used condition, one ring handle is broken
The cabinet is 16” high, 14” wide and 14.4” deep
