1950’s French Garden Statue

The detail achieved in this stone sculpture is exquisite. Upon first glance, you just see a young man carrying a sheath of wheat, but upon further inspection details become clear, a vest that is bit too tight as evident from the fabric pulling on the buttons leaving a gapping hole, his long flowing coat tucked into his cummerbund and the wrinkles expertly crafted in the fabric of his pants.
