French Empire Gilt Bronze Center Basket Circa 1900

Heavy cast gilt bronze centerpiece basket. Empire style and formed basket weave basket cast in bronze with gilt surface. The bottom is attached bronze plate with gilt. Beautifully sculpted basket with basket form handles on two sides. The size is 5″ deep and 16″ in diameter at the handles. Very good condition and impressive centerpiece or catchall on a desk. No foundry or maker marks.
