This Victorian Youth high chair has a spider woven back, cane seat and interlocking wicker circles on its arms. A product of the mid 19th century, few survived. This one was tenderly rewoven in the 1970s by a man who was deaf, dumb and blind, yet a wonderful craftsman. Small children in Victorian garb sat at the family table for dinners in this chair, a truly rare treasure!

Condition:GoodReplacements made: The spider woven back which is done by hand was replaced in the 1970’s at the time we purchased it by a craftsman who was deaf, dumb and blind. His work was done beautifully by touch alone. It was done in North Florida. Rewoven. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Considering its age and use the condition is exceptional. It was used by a little girl from 15 months to 3 years during the 1970’s, yet it was produced in the mid 1800s and surely used by a small child during the mid 19th century. Rare to find.
