A wonderful matching pair of early Victorian Low back Yew wood and Elm Windsor Chairs.
With turned arm supports, splat back and a carved trace outline all around the edge of the seat. The mortised back spindles are all in good shape. The baluster turned legs joining to the crinoline stretcher. All the joints are in very good order, and both chairs are in sound and solid condition. There is a slight difference between the turning design on arm supports, the seats are saddle seats, and made of Elm, the backs and arms are Yew wood. Both chairs are exhibiting a wonderful deep rich coloring, see photos. These were purchased in the North of England.
